How to Uninstall ‌‌‌Cisco Webex?

uninstalltips

Cisco Webex is a video-conferencing and web-collaboration suite that installs not only the main desktop app (“Webex Meetings Desktop App”) but also browser plug-ins, per-user updaters, and a system-wide service. Because these pieces are spread across Program Files, user profiles, scheduled tasks, and registry keys, a simple “Uninstall” often leaves behind fragments that reinstall the app on the next reboot or continue to run background processes.

Follow the steps below to wipe it out completely on a Windows 10/11 machine.

  1. Close every Webex window
Quit the app from the system tray and exit any open browser tabs that are using Webex.
  2. Use Cisco’s own removal tool (fastest)
    • Download the Meeting Services Removal Tool directly from Cisco’s support site .
    • Right-click the file → Run as administrator → click Remove and wait for the confirmation prompt.
    • Reboot when it finishes.
  3. If the tool is unavailable—manual route
    a) Settings
    • Windows + I → Apps → Installed apps → Webex Meetings Desktop AppUninstall .
    b) Control Panel (fallback)
    • Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features → Cisco Webex → Uninstall → follow the wizard .
  4. Clean the leftovers
    • Delete these folders if they still exist:
    – C:\Program Files (x86)\Webex
    – C:\Program Files\Webex
    – %LOCALAPPDATA%\Webex
    – %APPDATA%\Webex
    • In Task Scheduler (taskschd.msc) delete any Webex update tasks.
    • In Registry Editor, remove keys under
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Webex
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Webex
  5. Reboot once more
This clears any locked DLLs and services.

To save the manual hunting, run PerfectUninstaller afterward—it scans for every buried registry entry or orphaned service and wipes them in one click.
