How to Uninstall ‌‌‌‌‌Roblox?

uninstalltips

Roblox isn’t just a game—it’s a whole platform where millions of people, especially younger players, build and play user-created games. I’ve watched my younger cousin dive into it for hours, hopping from obstacle courses to role-playing worlds. It’s free to start, runs in its own client, and auto-updates in the background. But here’s the catch: uninstalling Roblox is way messier than it should be. It doesn’t just install one file—it drops components all over your system: a background updater, browser plugins, temp files, registry entries, and even a dedicated launcher that starts with Windows. Even after you remove it through the standard method, you might still find the Roblox browser assistant running, leftover folders eating up space, or the app magically reappearing after a reboot because some service didn’t fully die. It’s designed to stick around, which makes a clean removal a real pain if you’re trying to free up space or stop it from auto-launching.

Uninstalling Roblox on Windows 10:

I’ve had to clean this off a few family PCs, and the Settings app alone won’t cut it. Start by pressing Windows + I to open Settings, then go to Apps > Apps & features. Search for “Roblox.” It should show up—click it, then Uninstall, and follow the prompts. This usually launches the Roblox uninstaller, which removes the main app.

But that’s not the end. Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter. This opens the classic Programs and Features window. Scroll through and make sure Roblox is completely gone. Sometimes it shows up twice—once as “Roblox” and once as “Roblox Player” or “Roblox Browser Plugin.” Uninstall any related entries.

Now, the manual cleanup. Open File Explorer and go to:

  • C:\Program Files\Roblox\
  • C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Roblox\
  • C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\Roblox\

Delete all of these folders. The AppData ones are hidden, so you’ll need to enable “Hidden items” in View tab or just paste the paths directly into the address bar. These hold cached games, settings, and login data.

Also, press Windows + R, type %temp%, and delete any Roblox-related temp files.

Next, stop it from launching at startup. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), go to the Startup tab, and look for “Roblox” or “RBX.” If it’s there, right-click and Disable it.

Then, open Services (search in Start), look for “Roblox Update Service” or anything similar, stop it, and set startup type to Disabled.

Finally, check the registry. Press Windows + R, type regedit, and back up your registry first (right-click “This PC” > Export). Then go to:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Roblox Corporation
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Roblox

Delete these keys if they exist. This removes leftover settings and auto-login attempts.

Uninstalling Roblox on Windows 11:

The process is similar, but Windows 11 hides things a little differently. Click Start, press Windows + I, go to Apps > Installed apps. Search for “Roblox.” When it appears, click the three dots (⋯) and select Uninstall. Run through the uninstaller.

Again, don’t trust it to be gone. Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and double-check the list. Remove any Roblox-related entries.

Now, clean up leftovers. Go to:

  • C:\Program Files\Roblox\
  • C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Roblox\
  • C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\Roblox\

Delete all folders. You can access them quickly by typing these into Run:

  • %localappdata%\Roblox
  • %appdata%\Roblox

Fix startup: open Task Manager, go to Startup, and disable any Roblox entries.

Open Services, stop and disable the Roblox Update Service.

For the registry, same as Windows 10: use regedit, back up first, then remove keys under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ related to Roblox.

Even after all this, I’ve seen Roblox reappear after a system update or Windows sync. That’s why I don’t waste time on manual removal anymore. I use PerfectUninstaller. It scans deep—finds hidden services, browser plugins, temp files, and registry junk that Roblox leaves behind. It removes everything in one click, and actually stays gone. No more background processes, no auto-launching, no mystery folders. If you’re serious about cleaning your system without the hassle, just use PerfectUninstaller. It’s the only tool I trust to make sure Roblox doesn’t keep sneaking back in.
